I began painting when the second of my two children left home to begin college.  Time was suddenly abundant and the creative outlet helped me fill the empty nest.  My work is inspired by my love of nature and outdoor spaces.  I find myself drawn to the colors I see when I look out the window.  A painting evolves as I put color on the canvas, free to change with each brush stroke.  I begin without a real plan, the composition and the colors on the palette guide me.  No painting is complete until I feel its sense of balance and harmony.
